Summer Online Classes

Summer classes are an affordable way to continue your education when the academic year is over. As an undergraduate student, you can take some of your core classes over the summer in order to make more space for your major-specific courses in the fall—and even graduate earlier. Summer online classes are also available to high school students.

If you are a current high school student with more than four semesters completed or a current undergraduate student, you may apply for summer online classes.

Current undergraduate student application deadline: May 1

Dual enrolled student application deadline: May 15

Send Transcripts

High school students looking to apply for summer online classes must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. College students who would like to apply must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Please send your transcripts to the Traditional Undergraduate Admissions Office.

Complete Class Registration

If you are a high school student interested in taking summer online classes, you must create a new student account on our website as a dual enroll student. If you are an undergraduate college student, you must register as a non-degree seeking student.

For High School Students

High school juniors and seniors can take summer online classes as dual enrollment students.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Please review the below requirements for dual enrollment:

New Dual Enrollment Students

If you are new to dual enrollment, you should complete the following steps:

  1. Submit an online application.
  2. Send Cornerstone your high school transcript (3.0 cumulative GPA requirement).

Current and Returning Dual Enrollment Students

If you have previously taken dual enrollment classes at Cornerstone University, please contact your Admissions Counselor or email the Admissions Office at admissions@cornerstone.edu.

Costs and Fees

Cost: $191 per credit hour

Courses & Registration

Summer online courses begin on Sunday, June 5 and conclude on Saturday, July 23. You will work directly with your academic adviser to register for classes.

The following 100 and 200 level courses are available for dual enrollment, you can register for up to two courses.

*Requires a placement test to be taken prior to registration.

Class Format

All summer online courses are fully asynchronous, meaning you do not have a set class time during which you meet with your instructor. You will be expected to interact with fellow classmates through discussion forums and will be led through the course learning week by week. Assignments are done on their own schedule during each week.

For Current Full-Time Cornerstone Students

If you’re a current student at Cornerstone, you can also take core classes over the summer without having to be on campus. An eight-week online class during the summer will cost less and give you more availability to take major-specific classes in the fall.

Cost: $1,170 per course (technology fee included)

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA (2.0 for college students)
  • Four semesters complete in high school (or in first semester of high school)
  • Interested students should create a new student account and apply as a dual enrollment student.
  • Apply and submit transcripts by May 1
