This week in chapel, Dr. Wittmer highlighted the questions “Who Am I, and what is my identity?” In today’s culture, objectively and outwardly speaking, life could not be more easy and simple with life’s comforts and access to so many resources. Yet, there is still a great wave of anxiety and questioning of who we are. Colossians 2:9-10 states, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.”
To be in union with Christ is what salvation is. When we are in Christ, everything that matters within our lives are in Christ Jesus. When we are in Christ, we receive all of his benefits. If we are in Christ—we are in our identity. We are therefore free to fail and free to succeed because our identity is not in what we do, but it is in Christ. Listen to the full sermon below.
