Susan Rieske spoke in this week’s chapel service. The message she brought, based on 2 Corinthians 6:3-10, explored waiting with commitment—having a radical commitment to God and His mission. As she reminded us, we can have nothing but still possess everything.

Susan also reminded us that enduring our present sufferings is different from the way distance runners endure: while distance runners often seek to power through, we endure knowing that in Christ we have everything. This is a deeper, richer type of endurance. Paul was able to endure because he could see through all the suffering, hardships, trial, and earthly realities and into the heavenly realities. We can do the same.
