Cornerstone University Board of Trustees Elects Two New Members, Appoints Officers
Today, Cornerstone University announced the election of two new members to its board of trustees—Dr. Lee June (M.A. ’13) and Pastor Artie M. Lindsay, Sr. (M.T.S. ’04).
Lee June
Lee June is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Michigan State University. He formerly served as Michigan State University’s vice president for student affairs and services from 1996-2010. June has authored several books, numerous journal articles and book chapters. His research has centered on topics such as multicultural and ethnic counseling, counseling and psychotherapy and the psychology of the urban church. June graduated from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in 2013.
Artie Lindsay
Artie Lindsay currently serves as the teaching pastor at Tabernacle Community Church in Grand Rapids, Mich. Lindsay graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In the fall of 1995, he moved from his hometown of Detroit to complete a Master of Theological Studies at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Prior to establishing Tabernacle Community Church, Pastor Artie served as the associate pastor at Messiah Baptist Church in Grand Rapids.
“Both of these trustees are GRTS grads with a deep commitment to the mission and vision of Cornerstone,” said Dr. Joe Stowell, president of Cornerstone. “I have no doubt that they will serve well in their role as trustees.”
Officer Appointments
The Cornerstone board of trustees has also appointed four officers: Carole Bos (Chairman), Don Denyes (Vice-Chairman), Steve Cochlan (Treasurer) and Lee Zuidema (Secretary). Carole Bos is the President of Bos & Glazier P.L.C. located in Grand Rapids. Don Denyes is the Senior Pastor at South Church of Lansing. Steve Cochlan is the President and CEO of The Cochlan Group, Inc. and Bank Consulting Group, Inc. located in Hinsdale, Ill. Lee Zuidema is the owner of Kentwood Family Dentistry in Kentwood, Mich.
