Baldridge Selected as Dean to Lead Cornerstone’s New School of Business & Innovation
Following a rigorous search and interview process of talented internal and external candidates, Cornerstone University announces the promotion and appointment of Alexandria Baldridge, MBA, as dean of the new School of Business & Innovation. Her appointment began effective June 1, 2023.
Baldridge brings strengths in collaborative leadership, strategic planning and digital marketing to her new position. With more than 10 years of corporate experience and escalating leadership roles in corporate banking, digital marketing and higher education, Baldridge has an aptitude for and demonstrated experience in building high-performance teams, developing business partnership and designing student-focused courses.
“Professor Baldridge is widely recognized by her business program peers and is a bright, joyful leader whose success in the corporate world translated well in the classroom,” commented Dr. Bradford Sample, vice president for academics and chief academic officer. “She is a popular instructor whose firm but fair attitude in the classroom is understood by anyone taking her classes. She has taken on multiple, difficult projects over the past two years with energy and resolve, and I am sure of the future success of The School of Business & Innovation under her leadership.”
Prior to her appointment as dean, Baldridge served as division chair and assistant professor of marketing at Cornerstone University. She taught courses in principles of marketing, digital marketing, social media, advertising and more. A trusted voice on campus, Baldridge also participated as a member on multiple committees and task forces, including the Academic Integrity committee, Student Success committee, Business Student Advisory Council and Business Division Advisory Board. In 2020, she established an on-campus American Marketing Association Collegiate Chapter at Cornerstone University to expand professional development and networking opportunities for business students and served as the student organization’s pioneering faculty sponsor.
Baldridge is a double graduate of Northwood University, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in management in 2015 and a Master of Business Administration with a major in general business in 2017. In 2019, she completed a post-graduate certificate—Spiritual Formation in the Age of Social Media—from Kuyper College. Presently, she is a doctoral candidate in business administration with a specialization in marketing at Northcentral University which merged with National University. Her forthcoming dissertation, expected to be completed in October 2023, explores and focuses on the risks associated with influencer marketing on social media.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my colleagues, our students, the university and the LORD in this capacity,” Baldridge expressed. “In addition to building upon our existing strengths, I am committed to thinking innovatively about how we can take The School of Business & Innovation to the next level. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, and I am confident that together we can continue to achieve great things for the glory of the LORD.”
Baldridge will provide strategic direction for academic programming in The School of Business & Innovation and will uphold the university’s foundational statements—including the CU Confession and Christian Worldview Statement—in every aspect of the school and its mission to serve students.
