Northwest Ohio's Tanner Hostetler Graduates From Cornerstone University as Highly Decorated Student-Athlete
Tanner Hostetler, daughter of Jeryl and Jill Hostetler of Pettisville, Ohio, has graduated as valedictorian of the 2016 graduating class at Cornerstone University. She received her bachelor’s degree in business management and business finance with a grade-point average of 3.99.
A former student at Pettisville High School in Fulton County, Ohio, Tanner participated in basketball, track and cross country during her high school years, as well as participating in the Spanish Club, National Honors Society, Yearbook Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. and graduated as class valedictorian in 2012.
In 2012, Hostetler enrolled in Cornerstone’s Business Division, where she served as a project leader for Enactus, a student-led organization encouraging students to practice their entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, she was a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, Student Advisory Council of the Business Division, an MWest business plan competition participant and a recipient of the Miller Business Scholarship (awarded to excellent business leaders). All of which led her to be awarded the Finance Award and the Division of Business Academic Excellence Award in 2016.
During her time at Cornerstone, Hostetler was also heavily involved in the athletic department. She has been a four-year starter on the women’s varsity basketball team, a team captain and is academic all-district. She also participated in varsity women’s track in 2013.
Upon graduating, Hostetler has accepted a position at First Federal Bank in Defiance, Ohio, where she formerly served as an intern. She is engaged to be married to Alex Frey of Wauseon, Ohio, a graduate of Tiffin University.
