Top Ranked Online Programs at Cornerstone University
U.S. News & World Report

News Feb. 1, 2021

Cornerstone University’s online bachelor’s and M.B.A. programs have ranked among the top in U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Online Programs.

CU was ranked No. 2 for best online bachelor’s programs in Michigan. Nationwide, online bachelor programs ranked in the top 100. CU’s online M.B.A. is in the top 10 in Michigan.

This annual ranking factors in four main areas of online learning, including student engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and expert opinion.

Since 2006, CU’s Professional & Graduate Studies (PGS) division has offered online degree programs to meet the needs and schedules of busy working adults. With the ability to take one course at a time and the freedom to move through weekly assignments on their own time, adult students are equipped to learn when and where it’s most convenient for them and their lifestyle.

Serving Students Where They Are

Identifying and meeting the needs of students comes through intentional steps of innovation and adaptability.

“PGS’ online programs are uniquely positioned to serve adult students from anywhere—around the country and around the world!” said Connie Sattler, dean at Professional & Graduate Studies (PGS). “When university students gather together in online classrooms, time zones and work shifts are irrelevant as they complete their studies and interact with others at times and in ways that work with their own schedule and availability.”

Assignments, discussion forums and other collaboration tools empower students to stay connected with faculty as they progress toward their goals, in a way that fits their lifestyle.

“Students who take classes together in our online programs grow their learning through course work, faculty interaction and with one another,” Sattler said. “We have found that professional and personal relationships cultivate and develop because online learning makes our big world a whole lot smaller.”

Students are empowered with online and on-demand resources. These resources include 24/7 support for the online learning management system, on-demand tutoring services covering a variety of topics and a student resources folder filled with helpful links and guides for students to thrive in their academic pursuits. PGS’ Center for Student Success also provides online one-on-one meetings with staff dedicated to equipping students with career, writing and technology support.
