The human experience is complex and beautiful. Explore the history of what it means to be human through the lens of writers from around the globe and across centuries. Insight into the form, style and function in which these authors wrote will enhance your understanding of history, sociology and the written word.

During your time as an English major, you will gain critical experience through an internship with one of our employment partners from around West Michigan. Through an internship, you’ll gain insight into writing, publishing and editing.
English majors from Cornerstone University have a wide array of career paths ahead of them. Some go on to graduate school to become teachers and others work at libraries or publishing companies.

As a Humanities Division student, you will have the opportunity to study abroad in places such as Ireland, Ecuador, France, Italy, Kosovo, Oxford, South Africa and Spain.
Humanities Division Annual Seminar
The Humanities Division provides students from all academic divisions with an annual seminar to discuss topics such as an era of poetry or influential thinkers. This seminar experience also includes an opportunity to study abroad in Oxford, England.
