Who’s Hiring?

Open positions for student employment are posted on Handshake. Student Employment positions may be one of two levels, based on the total expected hours/week/student employee.

  • Level I Positions: These departments have plenty of work for one or more student employees (between 15 – 20 hours/week on average).
    • Examples: Athletic Building and Game-Day Operations, Campus Safety, Food Services, Housekeeping, Library, Accounting, Student Financial Services (SFS), Marketing, Resident Assistants …
  • Level II Positions: These positions cap out around 5 to 10 hours/week on average.
    • Examples: Admissions Tour Guides, A/V Events, Foundations Leaders, Tutors, Student Leaders in SFCC, Grounds, Music, Graders…

Hiring a student worker:

  1. Before the student employee can start work, the manager must ensure that OPC (Office of People & Culture) knows your intent by completing a Student Employee Add Form found on My Cornerstone.
  2. Student employees need to schedule onboarding with OPC and complete forms.
