This week in chapel, Dr. Doug Fagerstrom, emphasized that the Gospel is the sum essence of the person, the work and the words of Christ Jesus. As disciples of Christ Jesus, we are purposed to demonstrate who Christ is. Many individuals in the work place are longing to be known and to be heard. The Scripture Isaiah 6: 8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'” We are to give ourselves up to be used by God for His purposes not our own.

We are reminded by the words of Eugene Peterson that “the number one job, the number one responsibility of ministers is to point people to Jesus.” In whatever season of life, in the experiences we have and with the skills we bring to ministry, we are called to bring Jesus to others.
