Cornerstone University — including Cornerstone Theological Seminary — is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). HLC approved Cornerstone for accreditation on April 13, 1977.

Cornerstone Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). This membership organization consists of more than 250 graduate schools in the United States and Canada that conduct post-baccalaureate professional and academic degree programs to educate persons for the practice of ministry and for teaching and research in theological disciplines. The Commission on Accrediting of ATS accredits institutions and approves degree programs offered by accredited schools.

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) granted Cornerstone accreditation for its bachelor’s and master’s business programs in 2019. ACBSP recognizes quality business programs on a global level at the university and college level.
