Music

As a musician, you tell stories through music. Your passion drives you to pursue your calling in new and innovative ways. Cornerstone University offers competitive music programs, from music education to worship arts, to help you live out your dreams and become the musician God has called you to be.

We exist to prepare students for professional and vocational life as educators, performers and worship leaders. Our programs are designed to give students a solid musical and theoretical foundation through discipline, skill acquisition, character development and a strong work ethic. We aspire to educate skilled music professionals who value music as reflecting the beauty and order of God’s creation.

Matt Winright:
Fostering Love for Music

As a college student, Matt Winright (B.A. ’19) appreciated how invested professors in the Music department were when it came to his development as a musician and as a Christian. Now, as a teacher himself, their commitment to him when he was a student means even more to him. A band director and music teacher at Mar Lee School in Marshall, Mich., Matt teaches K-8 students how to make music together. The Christ-centered education he received at Cornerstone University inspired him not only in his faith but also in his vocation. His greatest passion now is seeing his students improve day by day and enjoying the music that they create.
